Power BI for small business, without the consultant price tag

Most Power BI consultancies in Auckland are built for finance teams and executives. Good work — wrong size for you. We do the same job for businesses that count staff in tens, not hundreds, at a price you can see before you call.

What does Power BI actually cost a small business in NZ?

Microsoft charges per user per month for Power BI Pro, and that is only the licence — it does not include getting your data in, modelled, and turned into something worth looking at. That build is where the real cost sits, and where most quotes go vague. We publish ours: setup from a fixed fee, then a fixed monthly amount for keeping it running. No hourly creep.

You can see our full pricing on the pricing section— every tier, every setup fee, no "contact us for a quote". We think hiding the number is a tell.

Do I need this, or is my spreadsheet fine?

If one person maintains the spreadsheet, it takes under an hour a month, and nobody argues about whose numbers are right, your spreadsheet is fine. Keep it. You need something better when the same numbers get rebuilt by different people, when the answer arrives too late to act on, or when nobody can tell you which jobs actually made money.

If it turns out you do not need us yet, we will say so on the call. A business that outgrows its spreadsheet in two years is a better client than one talked into something today.

Can you connect it to Xero?

Yes. Most small businesses we work with run Xero, and the accounting data is usually the fastest route to something useful — cash position, who owes you what and for how long, and which work is genuinely profitable rather than just busy.

How long before I see anything?

A first working dashboard in weeks, not months. We would rather put something imperfect in front of you early and change it than disappear for a quarter and present something you did not ask for.

Try something first, for free

We publish working tools rather than brochures. If you build reports yourself, our free tools include a proper NZ and Australian date dimension — the thing every Power BI model needs and almost everyone gets subtly wrong.
