Data Tradies is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Boschveld Limited, trading as Data Tradies, a company registered in New Zealand and based in Auckland. "You" means anyone who visits our website or contacts us.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we collect through our website at datatradies.co.nz and when you contact us or enquire about our services. It does not cover third-party websites we link to — those sites have their own privacy policies.

Information we collect automatically

Like most websites, we collect some technical information automatically when you visit:

• Analytics data — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site (for example, which pages are popular). This includes a randomly-assigned identifier stored in cookies, the pages you view, your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address), and your device and browser type. It does not tell us who you are by name.
• Server logs — our web host records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your visit. This helps keep the site secure and running.
• Fonts — our pages load fonts from Google's font service, which means Google may receive your IP address and the page you're viewing when a page loads.

We do not collect or process payment information through this website.

3. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them only for website analytics (Google Analytics), to help us understand and improve how the site is used. We do not use cookies for advertising.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies won't stop you using the site.

4. How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to:

• respond to your enquiry and provide the information, quote or service you've asked about;
• communicate with you about a project or engagement;
• maintain, secure and improve our website; and
• meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We only collect personal information for these purposes, which are connected with our business functions and activities. We won't use your information for an unrelated purpose without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. We do use a small number of trusted third-party service providers who process information on our behalf so that our website and enquiries work:

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. Our website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection and uses standard security headers.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, to maintain our business records, or to meet legal requirements — after which we securely delete or de-identify it.

8. Your rights: access and correction

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it; and
• ask us to correct it if you think it's wrong, incomplete or out of date.

To make a request, email us at info@datatradies.co.nz. We may need to confirm your identity first. We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can, and within 20 working days as required by the Act. There's usually no charge, and we'll tell you in advance if a charge applies to a large request.

10. Links to other websites

Our website links to third-party sites, such as our GitHub organisation and our social-media profiles. We're not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites — please read their own privacy policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or the law. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll take reasonable steps to make that clear.
